His children also share their father’s dedication to the Shabad
Guru. With the motivation and faith in Waheguru, the family had
produced a CD, “Shabad Anahad”, to inspire young children to
maintain their faith in Gurbani. “Ek Boond” was the first recording
done by Dr. Bhurji’s eldest daughter, Gurdev, when she was 7 years
of age. At the age of 12 years she provides us with Shabads sung in
classical raagas. Navpreet, 9 year old daughter, and Amrit, his 6
year old daughter, have also sung one Shabad each in the CD.
Dr. Pargat Singh Bhurji is the intelligent son of Smt
Charanjit Kaur Ranu and S. Balwant Singh Bhurji, born February 7th,
1963 in Mumbai, India.
S. Balwant Singh Bhurji, the father of Dr. Bhurji,
earned a good reputation with his hard work and honesty as a
government contractor for building industries in Gujrat. He settled
in Bombay and established "Amar Shakti Construction", "Progressive
Construction", as well as "Sardar Builders". He was an active member
of Ramgarhia Sabha Bombay and Ramgarhia Co-operative Bank in Bombay.
He now resides with his son in Surrey B.C. Canada. He himself is a
practicing Sikh.

Dr Bhurji has a
multidimensional personality and has proven to be
multi-faceted. He makes regular appearances on both
local radios and television shows for medical and
spiritual issues, his presentation is so smooth that it
affects the listener deep inside the heart. He continues
to be a dedicated professional in pediatrics &
neonatology. His spiritual, religious and motivational
talks on Sikhism have made him popular among the masses.
He was first inspired by Giani Sant Singh Maskeen.

Dr Bhurji did his matriculation and +2 from Guru Nanak
High School Bombay 1982 He was a brilliant student of
the school. He secured 97% marks in physics, chemistry
and biology. Dr Bhurji did his MBBS from Lokmanya Tilak
Medical College Bombay in 1986. He came to Canada in
1988 and worked as a family physician. In 1990 he joined
University of British Columbia, Vancouver. He became a
specialist in Pediatrics in 1994 and did further
subspecialty in Neonatology till 1996. He has fellowship
of Royal College of Physicians of Canada and is a
Diplomat of American Board of pediatrics. He has a very
busy consultation practice in Surrey and is Asst.
Professor at UBC.
He was the team leader to the mission in Kalmunai, Srilanka to give
medical help to children after Tsunami in march
2005,following the mission of Bhai Kanhaiya to serve the
needy.

Dr
Bhurji is member of many Social, Religious and medical
associations and organizations. He is Member of Canadian
Pediatrics Society, American Academy of Pediatrics ,
North Pacific pediatric Society. Punjabi Medical
Association. Board of director Surrey Memorial Hospital
Foundation. Bhai Kanhaiya Foundation and many more
organizations. etc.
Dr
Bhurji married to Smt Gurjinder Kaur Sabharwal on 16th
august 1985. The couple is blessed with three daughters
and a son. |
