richness of Sikh culture by honoring the great
sons of his soil. And he has chosen rather unusual
way of going about it. Salh craft life sizes

Parwinder Singh Salh is an Auto mechanics by profession who utilize
his spare time - money on his sculpting hobby and displays his
creation in a Museum In Lakhnour village on the outskirt of
Mohali. The evaluation of Salhs sculpting carrier is interesting.
Starting with crafting toys of wood and cement as a child he moved
to making iron tractors and fans. But worked him to carving statues
was Ramananad Sagar Ramayana. He carved lord Ram statute in cement
after seeing the epic on TV in 1985. He recalls that in 1990 he
crated a statue of a security guard that was displayed in the Punjab
Raj Bhawan for 8 years. The idea of sculpting historical figures
struck Salh some 6-7 years ago when he saw Amitab Bachan wax statue
at Madme Tossade on TV.
He has been carvings statue for a
long time, but that past history of Sikhism inspired him to create
statues of our heroes and thereby makes younger generation aware of
their courage and sacrifice. From the outside Salhs museum looks no
more than a regular tin roof shed, but step inside and you find
yourself in the company of some of the greatest men, that Punjab had
produced Maharaja Ranjit Singh seated majestically on a golden
throne. S. Banda Singh Bahadur, who led a sustained political
struggle against the mugals, is depicted in full glory as is Bhai
Bachitter Singh, who battled an elephant set up on him by the
mugahls then there are Bhai Mati Dass who was sawed in two by the
mughals as well as Bhai Subegh Singh and his son Bhai Sehbaz Singh
who were tortured and killed for refusing to covert to
Islam. |

The museum also
contains a tableau on how Sheed Bhai Taru Singhs faith was put to
the test when his scalp was removed in barbaric manner. A recent
addition is a scene summarizing the atrocities inflicted on Sikh
women by the mughals. Its My tribute to the women who did not
betray Sikhism despite facing inhuman treatment at the hands of
mughals. Explained S. Parwinder Singh Salh.
Salh has also formed a Sikh heritage and cultural society January
2005, a friend Kamal Singh has given him the use of his shed rent
free. He is continuing to create more and more statues. His great
ambition is to create a big Statues of Maharaja Jassa Singh
Ramgrahia, who had picked up the throne of Mugahal from Lall Quila
Delhi. Mean while, Salh is working to ensure that each of his
creations is perfect write from the eye brow to the facial
expression to even the lines in the hands Salh Sikh museum is
located o the Mohali Landra road Opp. BSF
